Captains Coureagous, Victor Fleming (from Rudyard Kipling's novel)

Harvey a youngster, only son of a wealthy New York family, traveled to Europe to complete what his parents considered a refined education. Before falling overboard from the cruise ship which performed the journey, the unique boldness he had dared was to gamble his weekly pay playing poker. But the truth is that so much indulging and enjoyed privilege over fifteen years had made of him just a sly cretinous.
When Harvey awakens and regains conciousness in the "We're Here" fishing boat he begins to realize that he has landed in a world very different from his. His first intention will be that the schooner that picked him up changes its course and returns to his home in New York; but without money, his wishes are not orders, and he will have to follow in the schooner and with those fishermen throughout the season of fishing, winning with his effort the daily bread. The skipper, Disko Troop, treats him as one more and the rest of the crew accept him as a companion of fatigue, especially the Portuguese Manuel, the one who fished him from the sea in his boat saving him from dying drowned. And he learns the ropes of fishing. For his luck, the captain's son is his age, and they become friends. Contact with these men who work to live and have nothing for free changes Harvey radically. When they get back to seaport, Harvey''s position in the world is revealed; his parents arrive full of happiness because, for them, it is his lost son''s return to life; they marvel at the change come about on the boy, thinking his season spent as a sailor has actually been a blessing; and they try to reward in the best possible way to all those who have helped the boy.
